Mid-Year Book Freak Out

This tag was created by ReadLikeWildFire and Ely Jayne from A Book so Fathomless . I was tagged by Lucy at Things Lucy Reads and was super excited to join in the fun.

Question #1. Best book you've read so far in 2015.
For this questions I am cheating a bit and pick 2 books: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch and The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. I absolutely adored both of these books! I started reading Snow Like Ashes last year, but didn’t finish until January, so I felt like this would qualify. When I read this book I did not have a blog, but I hope to write a review soon. I did however write a review for The Wrath & The Dawn; you can read it here.

Question #2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2015
For this I had to go with Cress by Marissa Meyer. I am absolutely obsessed with The Lunar Chronicles!!

Question #3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I bought this book the week it was released but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to read it. My goal at this point is to read it before The Glass Sword it is released.
I also really want to read An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I bought this book and planned to read it for my August book club; however, due to last minute travel arrangements I didn't get to go to book club or read this book. Hopefully soon though :)

Question #4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
Again, I have to cheat a bit for this question and pick 2 books: Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch and Winter by Marissa Meyer. I love both series and I cannot wait to get my hands on these. They are both pre-ordered :)

Question #5. Biggest disappointment.
The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl by Barry Lyga. I recently picked this at my local library because the cover and title really appealed to me. However, I ended up not loving this book. The story was okay, but there were no astonishing adventures. I’ll try to write the review for this soon.

Question #6. Biggest surprise.
Defiance by C.J. Redwine. I had this on my TBR list for a while and was expecting to enjoy it, but ended up loving this book. I was blown away by this story; you can check out my review here. I can’t wait to read the sequel.

Question #7. Favorite new author. *Debut or new to you*
Sara Raasch – I absolutely love her writing and the world she created in Snow Like Ashes.

Question #8. Newest fictional crush.
There should be no surprise here: Theron from Snow Like Ashes. I absolutely love him!!!

Question #9. Newest favorite character.
Celaena Sardothien—I recently started reading Throne of Glass and I think she is an amazing character. I can’t wait to see where her character goes next. I can’t believe I waited this long to start this series!

Question #10. Book that made you cry.
Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern. In my opinion, this book is perfection! You can read my review here.

Question #11. Book that made you happy.
I have to cheat here a bit too, because I read these back to back and they are very connected: Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door, and Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins; all fantastic, heart-warming reads.

Question #12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year.
Insurgent—I know I am in the minority here, but I really loved the movie.

Question #13. Favorite review you've written this year.
I think for this I have to go with Every Day by David Levithan. I loved this book and I had a great time writing my review.

Question #14. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – the cover for this book is absolutely stunning. I am currently reading this, and this book is equally beautiful on the inside. I think this will be an instant favorite.

Question #15. What book(s) do you need to read by the end of the year?
I am almost done with Throne of Glass, I own the rest of the books in the series, and Queen of Shadows is pre-ordered. I have no excuses, I must catch up on this series!

I would also love to read the Something Strange and Deadly trilogy by Susan Dennard because I've heard only amazing things.

So this is my Mid-Year Book Freak Out—sorry I cheated a lot ;) Hope you guys like it. Thank you Lucy for tagging me; I had a great time writing this post.
